Chilliwack Agricultural Society is one of the oldest societies of its kind in BC. Founded in 1872, the society hosts the annual Chilliwack Fair- the second oldest continuously operating fair in BC. It's a three-day event held every August, and attended by 25,000-30,000 people. The Fair focuses on agriculture, local heritage and culture. There is a parade of antique farm equipment, a threshing bee, and demonstrations of many antique farm and household implements. The Fair also includes a large 4-H show, open livestock exhibits, a \"home and garden show,\" as well as displays of art, photography, fruit, vegetable, floral, needle and kitchen arts. There are stages featuring local entertainers. Another integral part of the Fair is the Chilliwack Rodeo, a top BCRA event.
