Hello Farmers!!
My wife and I own the Olive Bistro & Lounge in Jasper, Alberta. We have been in business for 7 years and going strong. It has been our goal here to not only serve the best food possible but to ethically source it. I believe more so now than ever this needs to happen. I could go on politically for hours on this but I won't...for now.
It has been a real challenge for me to find food locally without a major city centre near by. I've been trying to push my big grocery suppliers to carry from local producers but it has been extremely difficult and frustrating for myself. So I m reaching out to any farmer who is willing to work with me. I can tell you what I need, but I know that is not always possible. So I am going to be extremely flexible. Let me know what is possible to grow, and or what has worked well and i will work with that. It is a challenge for me to work with what the land has to offer as opposed to what I want. That in lies the problem with food.
So I want to highlight Alberta food. Being a tourist destination I think Jasper is a good place to highlight what we have to offer. I will have a very seasonal menu that can change with what is made available. Thank you for your time and looking forward to any responses. :)
