The property is flat, and it has a high water table. I'm slowly working on ditching with the neighbours but can't promise it will ever be dry. It can definitely flood.
I grow veggies in an area that I've raised up with composting and have had success with raised beds. Tilling needs dryer soil so you can't just rototill early spring. Neighbours have had great success with garlic.
I raised Dexter cattle (small)for a number of years and there's been horses but the ground is just too soft for heavy animals. The caused some compaction wherever they made trails.
For pasture it would likely be better for turkeys/poultry and perhaps sheep.
Description and historical use of land available for farming
I've been here for 13 years approx, prior to me it was used as summer pasture for cattle and horses.
It's a 2 min drive from downtown Pemberton.
