State of the surface of the cultivable area
50 Acres of open fields, over 12 years ago we ceased leasing it out to a nearby cattle ranch for hay production. We had the soil tested last year and the health is good. Currently has a mixture of wild grasses and hay that has re-seeded itself every year.
Description and historical use of land available for farming
For many decades this property was owned and farmed for hay for the winter feed by the Stump Lake Cattle Co. In the late 90's the Stump Lake Ranch decided to sell off subdivisions of their land and thats when my mother bought a section. She built her dream home, and leased the fields back to the Ranch. After a few years of leasing to the Ranch it became clear they didn't respect the land or their agreements and that relationship ended. Since then we have been letting the fields go wild.
