General farming (3 years+) - Ran a market garden and farm stand for 4 years, volunteered with Fresh Roots for 1 years
Do you have a business plan?
Yes - My main focuses are on food security and food sovereignty. I will be growing food culturally relevant for First Nations, Chinese Canadians, and other select ethnicities. I also wish to partner with neighbourhood houses and cultural centres to provide affordable food. I plan to subsidize affordable food access with a CSA, with wealthier members subsidizing shares for low income members; selling high value cash crops such as citrus fruits and rare heirloom apple and vegetable varieties at farmers markets and to restaurants; and selling specialty grafted fruit trees and grafted tomato plants; and value added products such as jams, dressings, essential oils, and handmade soaps
Do you have financial resources available to start your farm?
Yes - Savings
Do you have access to other financial resources (such as a financial partner, loan, etc.) to start your farm?'
No - Savings
