Farm Project Description
Hello fellow farmers!
I would like the farm to stay on the small scale (under 10acres). We will run as a self sufficient organic farm and bistro, omitting as much of our carbon foot print as possible. I have in vision to open what I call a "greenhouse bistro" which will focus on all of the fresh vegetables, herbs and produce from the farm. The bistro will be built inside the green house amongst all of permaculture. Think of this as a dining experience inside of the growing environment of the plants where you can pick your own fresh herbs for your plates. The menu will be plant based and seasonal, changing as we harvest a variety of different vegetables on the farm. I plan on using only horse drawn equipment and having goats on site. We will have laying hens and hives as well to use in the restaurant. We will grow our own grains, mill our own flour and serve fresh bread. As per structures we only intend on having the 1 large greenhouse which hosts the bistro, a lean-to shelter for the horses (2) with storage for equipment, a small hay shelter and a mobile trailer for staff members. All in all, the vision is BIG but the excitement is even BIGGER!
