The property overlooks Arrow Lake and is partially wooded, sloping gently towards the water.
The farm's vision and primary goal is to create a vibrant combination of three communities - a lifelong living community farm for people with special needs, low-cost living for active 50+ seniors, and small plots of land for young agrarians to farm and collectively raise livestock. The result is a win-win-win scenario that benefits all three groups as well as the economy of the surrounding area. Everybody has a place here. They also have multiple business opportunities throughout the farm, utilizing water, development land and our abundant resources. They are offering new farmers the opportunity to be part of a community project in a beautiful, picturesque location with the chance to grow crops, share storage, supply food to others, and collectively raise a variety of livestock and poultry. Their family members may find jobs on the farm that meet their skills. Plots of farmland will be leased, at an affordable price, to individuals who wish to grow food for themselves or the surrounding community. There are also plans to create a tools and equipment compound for the shared use of the farming community. For a small herd of cattle, shared costs and labour will be considered. The farmers may also find support from other residents for assistance in planting, harvesting, maintenance, sales, and marketing of their locally-grown produce.
