Description and historical use of land available for farming

We are a cow-calf operation and grass farm that also raises pastured poultry. We are using regenerative practices and seeing our mineral cycle, water cycle, community dynamics and energy flow become increasingly effective. We can improve community dynamics with the addition of gardeners on our farm.

Long-term goal or vision for land

The opportunity is for someone or some couple that have experience in a market garden setting, to set up shop on our farm. We would come to an agreement on the prices of the products that you would grow and sell-through us. We foresee that we could market all of the produce that comes off of this arrangement through our current channels. If you are not fond of the marketing side but you can grow high-quality produce this would be an ideal opportunity for you. During this uncertain time, food is becoming even more important to the families we currently supply with meat. Since this spring's unprecedented events are still unfolding and we do not know what the rest of the year will bring, it would not be in our context to begin gardening ourselves. Our family has two retail outlets and a growing home delivery system where we could market these products and promote an ideal diet. We have identified a site as a potential garden with silt loam soil and SOM% ranging from 5% to 13%. We are working on becoming a verified regenerative farm.
