We’re a young, respectful and financially secure couple in our early thirties in search of a place to live on rented land to farm and garden, and to raise our colonies of “babees” for the foreseeable future. Ideally, we're looking for an on-site housing opportunity with 2-3 bedrooms, a kitchen and bathroom and a land listing with organic farming practices and a garden, greenhouse, barn/shop and plenty of room and food for our bees to safely grow and pollinate. We'd also be interested in opportunities to rent the full property. We are currently both working remotely for our employers in the Lower Mainland, but are looking forward to transition into a more self-sufficient and off-grid lifestyle, including owning our own honey farm and keeping some animals. We spend our after-work hours in our veggie and fruit garden or taking care of our honey bee hives (which are the cutest, social and kind little beings you have ever encountered, because well, they’re from B.C…). Aside from that, we’re taking every opportunity to get outdoors and exploring the beauty that B.C. has to offer, whether that’s paddling on the lake, chasing the powder, going for a long forest hike, or simply enjoying sunsets with a good local beer or wine. We have a lot of experience in farming, organic gardening, and raising animals (chickens, goats, sheep, horses etc.). We are willing to invest in the right place (preferably rent-to-own agreement) and open to different prices or agreements depending on what’s included. We both have great references of local landlords in the Lower Mainland and northern central BC that can support our self-sufficient lifestyle and hard-working mentality. We would very much appreciate the opportunity to connect with someone who has the same future aspirations to share skills and resources and to support our local communities through organic gardening and farming.
