The Greener Side Farm
Farm Project Description
The Greener Side Farm, started in 2019 by Lo Shrum, is a small scale mixed agriculture farm following the organic standard practices. The farm grows over 30 types of vegetables selling to restaurants, through a small CSA program and at Markets using a raised bed no till approach rotating crops in order to minimize disease transfer and control pests. The farm also raises organic fed pigs rotated frequently on pasture. The pigs are fed certified organic grain, spent milk and whey from the farmers one dairy cow and vegetables and fallen fruit that can’t be sold. The methods used focus on rejuvenating the land and creating the least amount of impact to the surroundings.
