Farm Project Description
I am a newly single mother of three young children that I homeschool. I am a performance artist and generate most of my income from this artistic work. My life is quiet and simple and I have been waiting for a plot of land that I can care for in order to raise my kids close to the earth.
This work would be a labour of heart and love, as I seek to learn what Life has to teach me through committing to the Earth and her cycles. I am already an avid gardener in my small town of Kaslo BC, but have so much more to learn. My aim is to spend the rest of my days learning to listen and heed what the gardens I tend are asking me to do. In small steps, I would like to raise small live stock as well. One step at a time.
This is my only goal. To love the plot of earth I am on, and to raise my kids to love this land and by extension the whole earth. Thus increasing their sensitivity to our greater environmental concerns, and need to care for one another as a whole.
If I can find a plot of land near Kaslo BC, then I have a community of people that i can draw on who will be able to help me with projects around the farm, with knowledge, and encouragement. I have been setting myself with relationships that will be able to support me as I live on the land.

It would be ideal if the soil is already ready to be planted. Of course, I am happy to start from scratch, building up the soil if it has been neglected for some time.

Yes - It is not absolutely necessary, but this will ease the transition for my family and I.

Yes - It would be ideal to fence off the growing space, however, I am willing to build fences if this is not available.

Yes - This will be needed to develop small scale plans, but I can source these supplies from outside sources, and they do not need to come from the landowner.
