Farm Project Description
"Boozhoo niijii" is "Hello, my friend" in Ojibwe, will be the name of my farm and is the kind of farming atmosphere I long to create. This will be a farm but also a destination where all are welcome and can feel like they belong. The farm will be in the East Kootenay's home to the Ktuaxna nation, where I plan to establish a regenerative farm partially forested with native species and partially farmed with orchards, crops, and general vegetable produce depending on the location and climate. In the near future I also want to build a non-profit cultural centre where I bring together First Nations of all backgrounds. I myself am Metis, Ojibwe, and Cree so I can understand the feeling to want to connect with other people of the same heritage. I hope I can create a place that will nurture and restore the land and people.
