I am a professional edible landscaper here in Victoria who is in the beginning stages of starting a nursery to both help supplement our landscaping business with plants and as well provide healthy, edible, medicinal and other useful plants to the Victoria area and beyond. I have a strong desire and passion for food security, restoration agriculture and food forestry; having worked and volunteered for multiple years on organic farms including managing one. I believe the local food movement means increasing our availability of local edible plants, both perennial and annual, to home owners and other businesses. Essentially I want my project to help more people in our community to grow more food in a regenerative and holistic way. I have a passion for horticulture and would love the opportunity to make use of land to hone in on my skills in propagation for the mission as stated. I have managed my own landscape business and currently co-manage one. For the last year I have been making steps to establish my own nursery as a (for now) side passion project with hopes of growing it over the coming years. This Nursery would be run by-appointment only, or with plant deliveries. Many products will be sold directly to the landscaping business. I am an excellent communicator, professionally mannered, very respectful of privacy and boundaries and wish whoever I lease land from to have a great working relationship with. Currently I have been using my home garden as a nursery, but am running out of space and wanting to expand my venture. The plants I sell would be by scheduled appointments only. I would also be interested in cultivating some of the land for annual production for myself, but would not necessarily be for sale. All I need is ¼-⅓ acre of land, water access (with the options for irrigation timers), and road access. Access to a greenhouse and having deer fencing would be an amazing asset but not necessary as long as I am allowed to install these features myself. Thank you for your consideration!
No invasive morning glory present and minimal amounts of buttercup weed. Flat land, tillable.
