Soil Summary (Grade: Good – Regenerating & Healing in Progress) The land features clay-loam soil with a modest but healthy topsoil layer, offering good structure and water retention. Through regenerative and reciprocal practices, the soil is actively healing and improving. We apply wood chip mulch, fermented compost teas, worm castings, and green manure fertilizers to feed both plants and microbial life. Minimal disturbance techniques, cover cropping, and seasonal rest periods support long-term fertility and biological diversity. The soil is now rated Good – Regenerating, and with continued stewardship, it is well on its way to becoming a thriving, living system—one that is honored as a partner in co-creation, not just production.
After nearly a decade of stewarding this sacred land, we are now at a natural crossroads. As trustees of the Golden Castle project in the Slocan Valley, BC, we are seeking a land trust or CRA-registered non-profit to receive this gift of land — either as a full donation or through a hybrid transfer. Our intention is to exit all operations and ownership, entrusting the future of this regenerative sanctuary and its newly acquired forest parcel to aligned hands. This offering includes an established farm and wellness infrastructure, abundant water, forest protection, and educational potential — all held in trust with the purpose of ecological healing, food sovereignty, and long-term community benefit. We are ready to pass the torch to those called to protect, nourish, and expand the legacy of this land for generations to come. Situated above Slocan Lake with Valhalla views, 10 minutes drive to Silverton and the lake. We purchased the property 9 years ago, it was not farmed, nothing done to the land by the original owners. A lot of rock was left, we put it to use built rock wall, steps, used on pillars on the house. We started our gardens, learning we are newbies, we experimented a lot in the greenhouse, we then built raised beds for outdoor veg gardens, in 2021 we started medicine wheel labyrinth healing circle idea and transplanted over 100 + plant species of medicinal plants for its purpose, work in progress really new to the property. Open to having someone take over, or suggestions otherwise we are open. Plant Hardiness Area zone 5, soil conditions mix of sand/clay we bring in soil, wormcastings, fermenting teas-green manure methods, wood chips etc from local sources.
We are seeking to transfer this land to a qualified land trust or CRA-registered non-profit aligned with our vision of regeneration, food sovereignty, and holistic wellness. Originally developed as a Regenerative Wellness & Food Sovereignty Campus, the land includes: A working herb farm, greenhouse, and food forest Infrastructure for retreats, workshops, and agritourism A collaborative space for mushroom growing, botanical product making, and education A history of successful trials with medicinal herbs, mushrooms, and CBD-rich cultivars (under R&D license) We are now stepping back from operations and seeking aligned stewards, trusted to carry this mission forward. If your organization is rooted in stewardship, ecological healing, and land-based education, we invite you to reach out. This is not just a property—it is a living legacy ready to support the next chapter of service to land and community.
