Ravenwood Farm is situated in the South Peace River area of northeast BC, with a view of the Rocky Mountains to the west, and rolling farm lands to the east.
With animal welfare top of mind, we use low stress livestock handling techniques and natural horsemanship principles.
To diversify our farm products, we have gardens and extensive plantings of berry bushes and fruit trees that often make it through the 40 below temperatures we sometimes get.
Our primary goal is to have a profitable and ecologically responsible farm that is a joy to operate and is resilient in spite of the many challenges agriculture faces today.
Way back in 1980 it was possible in BC to buy certain crown land, prove it up and get title. What you see today is the result of a successful bid on the initial 320 acres of 'bush', 40 years later. Ravenwood Farm is situated in the South Peace River area of northeast BC, with a view of the Rocky Mountains to the west, and rolling farm lands to the east. Boreal forest officially, grey wooded soil, mostly ranching country. We are engaged in perennial agriculture, hay land and pasture land, raising cows, draft horses and quarter horses. Summers are short, with very long days; winters exactly the opposite. We try to respect our land and livestock and improve the soils and woodlands.
