Our goal: Grow and establish circular food systems to feed ourselves and the surrounding community. Our names are Jordan and Nick (left - right respectively in the pic above). Our farming code closely follows the rules of Permaculture; we strive to work with nature rather than adjacent to it. We are keen to learn from the land we work with, whilst using KNF techniques to replenish soil health and diversity. We would like the freedom to learn and expand, as approved by the landowners. Stage 1 for us includes meat rabbit, quail (layers and meat), and establishing our presence in the community. Building a customer-farmer relationship and understanding the local food needs will be pertinent to our farms success. Local food waste and animal manure will help us build soil where needed. Bed prep, compost systems and planting schedules will be organized in this time. Stage 2 involves perennialized vegetables, perennial fruit planting and annual veggie system consolidation. Our focus is on low-input, low maintenance growing systems. Raising ruminants will be dependent on pasture size and quality, though of great interest to us both. Stage 3 involves scaling to the full potential of our site. Each step of the plan following the landowners permission.
Recently cultivated or currently cultivated would be ideal. Though we are not afraid to break ground on newer/rougher sites.
