Goats are funny little friends who we can all appreciate for their strong personalities, but they are even more than that. By utilizing goats, we eliminate the necessity of using harmful herbicides to efficiently and effectively control invasive species. Goats also provide a significantly more environmentally friendly alternative to mitigating the risk of wildfires – an increasing risk within the interior British Columbia.
The goats will create a more open and accessible pasture by controlling or completely eliminating the vegetation. We re-locate our goats to the targeted location and allow them to naturally eat the vegetation within in an enclosed area. Electric fencing is a highly efficient and humane technique to localizing the goats. Billy’s Brushing will serve the Central Kootenays in British Columbia Canada.
Ultimately, I am a goat lover, through and through, but also intend to provide them and ourselves with a meaningful purpose. We are conservation-minded people who have experience in silviculture. There is a need for a considerably ECO-FRIENDLIER approach to brushing and we have a vision. Customers should choose us because we are a significantly less environmentally impactful alternative to the current widely used vegetation control techniques.

Farm management (3 years or less) - Little Piece of Paradise Farm - Passmore, BC. Farm hand for 2023 summer, supervised and oriented WWOOFERS. I continue to farm sit for the family when they go away. They own goats, sheep, pigs and operate an organic herb farm. I am familiar with regenerative and organic farming practices, specifically using goats to mitigate vegetation.
