Project

Farm Name
Porky Paradise
Farm Project Description

We are just two people who care deeply about ethically raised food, we believe the best tasting meats come from animals raised with love and compassion. Our dream is to have a small scale farm for breeding, raising, and selling pigs in the interior of BC. Most of the pig market is currently in the greater Vancouver region and other suppliers are sparse. We would like to add ourselves to the family of happy pig farmers. We would be raising heritage breeds that are leaner, hardier, and given more of an opportunity to forage as nature intended. Our market would include supplying weaners and piglets to other small farms and homesteaders, selling pork wholesale directly to consumers and local delicatessens, and within 5 years also contributing to the lineage and improvement of pork genetics throughout BC through selective breeding. We are also currently researching and testing methods of creating a self sustaining edible forest to nourish the pigs, ourselves and our community as we believe it is the farming method of the future!
