Training
  • Farm management (3 years+) - Owned my own hobby farm in Mara BC for 7 years. I raised pigs, chickens, turkeys and grew all my vegetables and fruit for my family of 5. I processed from slaughter and cut and wrap myself.
  • General farming (3 years or less) - worked on 30 acre organic market garden where we used horses on the field. This was in Salmon Arm BC
  • Other experience/agricultural/business training - I have an Associates Degree in business administration
Do you have a business plan?
No - My plan would be flexible according to the land I find and the ability to graze or grow.
Do you have financial resources available to start your farm?
No - I have been working on a farm and labour in lieu of rent. We live off my husbands pension
Do you have access to other financial resources (such as a financial partner, loan, etc.) to start your farm?'
Yes - WE are hoping for a grant to get started or would be interested in any time of helping hand. We are extremely hard working.

Project

Farm Name
Barbed Wire Ranch
Farm Project Description

Depending on soil type to start. Regenerative practices are possible. I would like a small farm. Breeding pairs to start of hogs, cattle and broilers. I would grow whatever is possible for myself and with enough acreage for restaurants and the community. I would like to specialize in culinary and healing herbs. If a commercial kitchen available, would process and put my label on my canned goods, teas and tinctures, soaps etc. WE could also provide trees for landscaping companies.
