Long-term goal or vision for land

We are seeking an experienced, motivated farmer or rancher who is looking to establish a long- term home and commercially viable farming operation, with the potential for succession over time. Our property is located in the beautiful Kootenay Boundary region of British Columbia and consists of approximately 23 acres with excellent existing infrastructure. The property includes the possibility of renting one residence, a barn, fenced perimeter, a productive hay field of just under six acres, year-round water provided by a creek running through the property, and frontage on the West Kettle River. Previous owners successfully raised horses and cattle here. We are looking for an individual, couple, or family who views farming as a profession and a long-term commitment. Applicants should have demonstrated commercial farming or ranching experience, a well-developed operating plan, the financial capacity to establish or expand their enterprise, and a genuine commitment to caring for and improving the land and its infrastructure. We are open to a variety of compatible agricultural enterprises, including livestock, regenerative agriculture, mixed farming, and other sustainable agricultural operations. This opportunity is intended for those seeking a long-term partnership built on stewardship, mutual trust, and shared commitment to the future of the property. Preference will be given to applicants interested in establishing a lasting agricultural enterprise, with the possibility of succession if the relationship proves to be a good fit for both parties.
