Project

Farm Name
CC Farms
Farm Project Description

I want to farm commodities focused towards feeding livestock (Grain Silage, Hay, Grain). I would want to start off next spring by seeding some Barley or Triticale to the land I am Leasing, I would then sell Whichever off the field as silage to other farmers in the area for their Livestock. Someone Like Nata Farms is a big buyer and seller of feed in the Okanagan and does business regularly with my Grandfather and Father so they would likely be willing to buy it off of me. If there is enough rain and moisture to allow for a second cut of the previously specificed crops I would allow Nata Farms to come in again and take it off the field, In the fall I would seed a Fall rye after spreading any residue left over by the previous harvests and in the spring of 2025 sell that off again and repeat the cycle. In Spring 2025/2026 i would like to try to incorperate a Pulse crop into the mix to test out innoculants which produce nitrogen for the crop in a symbiotic relationship, this will in turn keep some nitrogen in the soil after it is harvested and replenish the soil.
