Farm Project Description
Sadie's Acres is a family-run farm and retreat center focused on organic, regenerative practices to support the health and abundance of the land, the animals, and the community. A garden space, food forest and greenhouse will grow an abundance of vegetables and fruit to sell at local markets/CSA boxes and to provide nourishment to guests attending retreats. Gourmet mushrooms will be cultivated both indoors and on the land to provide an additional food option for the community and guests on the farm. To encourage the biodiversity and abundance of the land, plants that attract local pollinators will be placed around food growing areas and throughout the property. The retreats will consist of Equine Facilitated Learning, Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy, and spending time on the land / out in nature to support healing, regulation, and integration. Hay will be grown and harvested on the property to provide food for our own animals, as well as horses being boarded by local community members. Surplus hay will be sold to other local farmers. In addition to growing fruits and vegetables, there will be chickens and ducks to supply eggs, goats for milk, and sheep for their wool. The combination of animals and plants on the farm using rotational grazing and land resting practices will support the soil health and ensure the vision for the farm is sustainable. Once established, the farm will be open to the public for educational workshops- teaching others proper land stewardship, appropriate animal husbandry practices, food security, including year-round food production, and self-sustainability - all from a holistic, regenerative perspective to help preserve the future of farming.
A note to potential land owners- we are responsible, adaptable, and flexible in regards to seeing this dream come to fruition
