Training
  • Farm management (3 years+) - Over the past 4 years, I have been working as an orchardist, and cultivating my own market garden business, from seed to harvest, for both pleasure and profit. Sustainably and organically growing and sharing vegetables, herbs, flowers, and fruit with others is my utmost joy. I have been selling at local fruit stands and providing bounty box sales to regular customers. 8 years ago, my friend and I ran a market garden business together, going to 2 markets a week and selling to local restaurants and wineries on the Naramata Bench.
  • Apprenticeship - I entered the agricultural world through the WWOOF organization - where I developed my passion for food production, connecting with and building community, and sustainable and regenerative agriculture through holistic land stewardship. I have worked on numerous garden plots and market gardens throughout BC, Nova Scotia, and Europe.
  • General farming (3 years+) - I have worked on cherry orchards, vineyards, and an apple and pear orchard for the better part of 4 years.

Farm Project Description

I hope to cultivate my dream farm - bringing diversity in offerings of vegetables, flowers, herbs, and seeds. I would like to focus on fresh-cut flowers, herbs for making tea blends and infusing face oils, growing garlic, and growing lots and lots of vegetables from all the different plant families. I save all of my seed to preserve food culture and food security. With the right land placement/matching, perhaps eventually planting fruit trees, and strawberries, as well as moving towards a more holistic approach or style of living with bees and chickens. With the right set-up, value-added goods are possible to prolong farm sales throughout the down seasons. Ideally, my main customers will appreciate quality, organically grown goods, infused with passion, love, and health. I would like to provide weekly bounty box/csa box pick ups, and weekly/monthly flower subscriptions, as well as attend one or two farmer's markets per week, and possibly a farm stand.
