Farm Project Description
I am a professional agrologist and consulting environmental scientist with an extensive background in horticulture and arboriculture. I have been growing and selling ornamental and fruit trees on Vancouver Island since 2015. I currently have approximately 200 larger (10-12 feet tall) trees (Japanese maples and an evergreen oak species) that would benefit from growing in the ground to complete their development. Following planting in the ground with weed barrier and an irrigation system installed, I would need to prune and train the trees 3-4 times per year. They would be ready for sale within 3-5 years, and I have new generations of trees that would replace sold ones. A fenced area is not required but would be beneficial. Access to a water supply for my drip irrigation system and well-drained soil would be needed.
