Seeking small area of land to set up gourmet & medicinal mushroom farm in a 40' shipping container. It can be a semi-forested area, 1-2 acres, with access to potable water & electricity. We can also provide our own housing as a tiny home on wheels (need electricity & water, but no septic). We will provide our own mushroom growing facilities. Husband & wife duo have been running a successful small scale mushroom farm for past 3 years on Vancouver Island. Wanting to relocate to Pemberton area with new baby son. We grow a range of edible oyster mushrooms for farmers markets, CSA & restaurants, as well as range of dried gourmet products. We have done both indoor and outdoor growing with a range of techniques, as well as created great mushroom compost from waste substrate. We are flexible with arrangement with land owners - whether our business is fully independent, or if combined with another existing farm operation to add to current market sales and/or land eco-systems (ie compost). We are also willing to participate in current farming on the land, with our previous background in vegetable farming, carpentry/building experience and an interest in sharing workshops & education on mushroom growing.
