Farm Project Description
We are a small family seeking 5-10 acres of land in the Port Alberni area, or best fit property, on Vancouver Island. Our focus is on creating a peaceful, sustainable farm that allows us to grow food, host an annual small retreat for healers, and operate thriving online businesses. We aim to practice eco-conscious farming methods, including raised beds, a small greenhouse, and natural land-use practices like permaculture. The retreat will offer a peaceful, supportive space for healers to gather and rejuvenate, and our online businesses will support our ongoing vision of sustainability and financial empowerment. Additionally, we are looking to incorporate our family’s diverse entrepreneurial pursuits. My son runs a growing business in custom 3D printing of model trains and designs, and we plan to expand his business by incorporating a future small-scale workshop or studio on the farm for creating and selling ride-on trains. This business will involve both in-person sales and attending events, contributing to our farm’s livelihood and community presence.
