State of the surface of the cultivable area
The area that will become available at the end of the 2025 season has been in vegetable and medicinal herb cultivation for 5 years. It is fenced, flat, and has abundant water with basic irrigation infrastructure. Current tenant has purchased other property and this will be his last season on my property. Another tenant is growing peppers/vegetables on ~1/8 acre, hoophouse on property and in adjacent 4 season greenhouse. Formerly covered in reed canary grass, there is heavy native weed pressure.
Description and historical use of land available for farming
Property is in the ALR and prior to my purchase 3 of 19 acres were fenced and planted with a vineyard that failed. Existing fencing and rudimentary irrigation remains. The property is in an alluvial plain. At some point in the past the property was drained and cows were pastured.
