We grow knowledge, medicine, and community—one grow at a time. Mission: To establish a nonprofit research and education facility that cultivates medicinal plants, fungi, and cacti using integrated pest management (IPM), renewable energy technologies, and regenerative practices—while creating accessible educational media to empower growers and support community wellness. Organizational Structure: Photon Farms is in the process of incorporating as a nonprofit to better serve public education, sustainable development, and environmental health. This structure allows us to pursue grant funding, partnerships, and donations to expand our mission-driven impact. Core Activities: Sustainable Crop Cultivation: Growing medicinal mushrooms, ethnobotanicals (e.g. Mimosa tenuiflora, Acacia, sacred cacti), and native plants. Mycology & R&D Lab: Producing cultures, grain spawn, and ready-to-fruit kits while researching substrate alternatives and cultivation methods. Renewable Energy Research: Designing and testing solar-powered systems, passive greenhouse strategies, and battery storage integration. IPM & Plant Health Innovation: Showcasing organic disease prevention, biological controls, and AI-supported diagnostics. Educational Media Production: Creating videos, digital courses, visual tools, and workshops on ecological farming, plant health, and mushroom cultivation. E-commerce & Outreach: Offering sustainably produced kits, teas, starter plants, seeds, and educational materials to support project sustainability. Location: Seeking land in British Columbia (preferably 2+ acres in the ALR) Organization Type: Nonprofit – Research, Education, and Cultivation Focus: Medicinal Plants • Mushrooms • Cacti • Renewable Energy • IPM • Media Education About Us: Photon Farms is a nonprofit regenerative farm and research project using the cultivation of medicinal plants, sacred cacti, and fungi to showcase sustainable horticulture methods and technologies in educational media. We're developing an integrated research and media hub focused on plant health, renewable energy in agriculture, and IPM (Integrated Pest Management) innovation. Our mission is to grow healing crops while producing educational content that empowers a new generation of ecological growers. From solar-powered mushroom cultivation to biocontrol field trials, our projects blend traditional knowledge, regenerative farming, and modern technology. We are currently looking for 2+ acres to launch our farm-based research station and greenhouse. The ideal site will host our mushroom lab, native and medicinal plant beds, propagation systems, and a media studio to document and share open-access education for growers. We prefer zoning in the ALR where we will be a valuable asset to landowners looking to maintain their ALR status. In return we are looking to reduce our monthly housing costs so that we can focus on our farm, our produce, and our educational videos

Yes - Any structures on site that have integrity and can be used as mushroom growing chambers, mycelium culture lab, plant propagation lab, or as an indoor grow room can be a valuable asset.

Yes - We need greenhouse benches, irrigation equipment, climate control systems, bobcat, lifts, etc. anything that can reduce the overhead cost

Yes - Due to the nature of our work, we need to be available 24 hours a day to finetune systems, make observations, document findings, shoot video footage, and intervein in problematic circumstances.
