Neighbourly Farm (www.neighbourlyfarm.ca) is a recently established, growing community of ecological farmers, craftspersons and food-based entrepreneurs, based on a vision of affordable long-term land access in a farm village setting in Grey County, Ontario. To us, “land access” must offer: secure and affordable onsite housing long-term land agreement opportunity to recoup investments in infrastructure The organizational framework has been carefully developed to balance rights and responsibilities, independence and community, freedom and commitment. Residents become co-owners through the partnership that owns the land, similar financially to a housing co-op. Each household runs their own independent enterprise.
