Experienced Crop & Fruit Tree Farmer Seeking Land Near Duncan, B.C
Located in
Other - I am looking for farmland on Vancouver Island. Ideally, the land should be close to Duncan or in nearby areas to facilitate easy access and management.
General farming (3 years+) - I was born and raised in a farming family, where we practiced traditional agriculture. From childhood, I learned hands-on skills in wheat cultivation, planting various types of fruit trees, and livestock farming — all in a traditional setting. In addition, I owned and operated a quail farm for three years, during which I also manufactured and sold incubator machines to other farms. I provided various services to other quail farms, including the supply of fertile quail eggs, and I purchased market-ready quails from them to process and sell. I marketed and sold quail meat and eggs directly to markets and restaurants, as well as from my own farm’s production. This experience has given me strong skills in both crop and livestock production, as well as in farm-related business operations and marketing.
Do you have a business plan?
No - I do not yet have a formal written business plan, as I have been in Canada for about 1.5 years and am currently working in carpentry in Duncan. However, I have a clear vision for starting a fruit tree and crop farm in the Duncan area, and I am in the process of developing my business plan to include crop types, orchard setup, and marketing strategies.
Do you have financial resources available to start your farm?
No - As I have recently arrived in Canada, I currently do not have financial resources such as loans, investors, or significant savings dedicated to starting a farm. At the moment, my income from carpentry covers my living expenses. However, I am committed to developing my farm business gradually and exploring options for funding in the near future.
Do you have access to other financial resources (such as a financial partner, loan, etc.) to start your farm?'
Yes - Yes, I need to find financial resources to start my farm. I am looking for small business loans, grants, or potential investors to support initial costs such as land preparation, purchasing seedlings, equipment, and operating expenses.
