Our main goal is to be productive stewards of the land and practice agency within our own lives. We seek to create abundance on the land and share it with the community. We're looking to put roots down and invest in the land, although we are also open to using this opportunity as a stepping stone and learning process before getting there. We are open and flexible to different scenarios and recognize we will most likely have to adapt our vision, although we don't want to forsake our farming values, namely: -biodiversity, both within the soil and amongst the crops and wildlife -fresh, nutrient rich, flavourful crops -generation of top soil through composting and green manures -the capacity to expand on successes and respond to failures -team collaboration on vision and values and methods -community based agriculture On a short term of 5 years or less we would like to hone our skills as market gardeners while gaining more experience with perennial crops as well as keeping limited amounts of layers and broilers. Longer term we'd like to integrate diverse hedgerows, fruit and nut trees, and rotational grazing practices. We're also interested in offering educational workshops and culinary events down the road. We're looking to start small and grow slowly, expanding the team and the operation as we feel ready.
