Farm Name
Boots Florals
Farm Project Description
Boots Florals is a regenerative and sustainable farming project providing local blooms to the Nanaimo area. Starting with tulips, ranunculus and peonies in spring, Boots is in production from March/April to November. Products include hand tied bouquets, herbs, garlic, dried teas, floral decor (wreaths, centrepieces), and floral oils. We sell at the Beban farmers market each Wednesday, the Friday Food Hub market on Fridays, have subscription clients in the downtown area, have connections with floral designers, and plans for an online store. We use regenerative practices, limited plastic, and are working towards saving more of our own seed to produce more robust, local and pest resistant flowers. We grow a mix of perennials, annuals, hardy annuals, and woody/shrub plants. We ensure none of the plants we grow have invasive potential.
We currently grow on East Wellington in nanaimo but are looking for new options with more security.
