Project

Farm Name
Easy Grove Regenerative Farm
Farm Project Description

Easy Grove is a regenerative farm in Lavington focused on soil health, community food security, and diversified small-scale agriculture. Our goal is to bring 40 acres of south-facing land back into production using practices that restore fertility and create a resilient, community-focused food system. To achieve this, we will combine greenhouse crops (spring hanging baskets, veggie starts, cut flowers), field garlic, and seasonal pasture-raised broilers supported by an on-farm cooler and processing setup. Forage partnerships and cover crops will rebuild soil while providing steady returns, and all enterprises are designed to fit within manageable labor windows alongside off-farm work. This balance ensures immediate cash flow while steadily improving the land for long term productivity.

The ideal land for Easy Grove would be open, arable acreage with healthy, well-drained soils and reliable access to water for irrigation. A portion of the land would already be in pasture or forage to support rotational poultry, while other sections would be ready for row crops and cover cropping to improve fertility. Existing infrastructure such as greenhouses, fencing, or cold storage would be an asset but not essential, as long as the land is relatively clear of debris and free of chemical contamination. A south-facing aspect with good sun exposure and moderate access for deliveries and customers would be preferred to support both soil-building practices and diverse crop production.

Open to landowner residing on property
Yes
Need farm buildings
Yes - See above
Need fenced land
Yes - Preferred
Need farm machinery and tools
Yes - At this stage I don’t require heavy equipment of my own, though basic infrastructure such as irrigation and secure storage would be important. For larger tasks like haying or initial field prep, I would look to custom operators or local partnerships rather than purchasing machinery. Hand tools, small-scale equipment, and greenhouse supplies I can provide myself or source as needed.
Need established water source and infrastructure
Reliable year-round source (well or surface water). Capacity of ~20–30 gallons per minute for drip irrigation and greenhouse fertigation. Simple infrastructure: mainlines, hydrants, and zone valves (no large pivots needed). Clean potable water access for broilers; modest volumes compared to crops.
