Farm Project Description

To teach battered women self sufficiency so they can be an asset to their family, community and themselves. I am hoping to be partnering with a community program to help these women get a trade or start their own business after being in the program for at least 2 years (2 growing seasons) Even though this farm will be a registered non profit it will still be a working farm. Perhaps growing specifically for the farm as well as local and hopefully provincial food banks. This program is in its planning stage but listed thinking it may take time to find the effect listing. A large house will be necessary, and farm equipment would be lovely saving grant funds for start up and growth of the programs infrastructure. We would be looking to other farms for mentorship and workshops for these women. The clients will go through a screening program designed to help the women who will appreciate and need the "farm" the most.
