ISO - Land for a small scale flower/veggie farm in Cowichan Valley

Located in

I am looking for a smaller piece of land (1/10th of an acre- 1/4 of an acre) in the Cowichan Valley to farm. My primary goal is to develop it as a productive, diversified space grounded in regenerative practices. I hope to revive my seed-library initiative by growing water-smart, heirloom, and regionally adapted varieties with strong epigenetics—plants well suited to our local climate. I also plan to incorporate a small flower-growing component to help offset the cost of the lease, along with a modest personal vegetable patch for crops I cannot yet grow at home while I continue expanding my rainwater collection system and saving for a cistern. Alongside vegetable and seed production, I plan to incorporate mushrooms as part of the soil-building system on the plot. Wine cap mushrooms will be inoculated into mulched pathways and beds to enhance soil structure and nutrient cycling, and I hope to maintain a small number of shiitake logs as well. I also have an interest in getting a red wiggler farm going where I can harvest their excrements to use as fertilizers (worm pee tea!). Together, these elements will support a resilient, ecologically balanced growing space. My goal is to create a productive plot that improves soil health, supports biodiversity, and contributes meaningfully to the Cowichan Valley.
