Farm Project Description
We, Marion and Justin are applying to the Young Agrarians Program and are seeking support to develop a small, diversified farm near Prince George. Our initial focus is on raising goats, chickens, and rabbits, alongside establishing a mixed food garden. We plan to grow raspberries, squash, and other vegetables well-suited to the northern climate and shorter growing season of the Prince George area.
Our goal is to build a sustainable, small-scale farm that supports food security for our large family of 9 children, and support their growth and responsibility through hands-on learning, and long-term stewardship of the land. Through this program, we hope to strengthen our skills in animal husbandry, soil health, and northern food production while building a viable farm rooted in our local environment.
