I am an aspiring small-scale farmer seeking land in the Pemberton Valley to establish an artisan, diversified farm rooted in ecological practices, community food security, and long-term land stewardship. My background includes hands-on experience with animals, land-based work, seasonal outdoor labour, and a strong understanding of care, responsibility, and working with natural systems. I am currently studying psychology, which informs my people-centred, ethical, and sustainable approach to farming and community relationships. My goal is to develop a modest, economically viable farm that prioritizes quality over scale, supplying local markets and community members with thoughtfully produced food while maintaining soil health, biodiversity, and respect for the land. I am specifically seeking a land-sharing arrangement where mutual benefit, clear communication, and long-term collaboration are valued. Ultimately, I hope to establish a stable livelihood that allows me to live close to the land while contributing meaningfully to the local food system. The farm will focus on small-batch, artisan production, with an emphasis on plant-based crops suited to the Pemberton climate, such as mixed vegetables, herbs, and value-added products (e.g., dried herbs, preserves, or specialty items), with potential to expand gradually as the operation becomes established. Production methods will be low-impact and regenerative, avoiding synthetic chemicals and prioritizing soil-building practices. A basic business plan is in development, outlining startup phases, local market opportunities (farm gate sales, farmers’ markets, and small wholesale), and a realistic pathway to financial sustainability. I am open to mentorship and business planning support and am committed to building a farm operation that is responsible, resilient, and aligned with the values of the Pemberton farming community.
