Farm management (3 years or less) - Dairy Goat Farming
General farming (3 years or less) - Gardening and cattle
Do you have a business plan?
Yes - Vaguely. I'd take advantage of free land and concentrates to produce as much goat milk as possible for as cheap as possible. Make various dairy products, and grow potatoes. Make perogies. Sell from a restaurant, grocery store or food truck.
Do you have financial resources available to start your farm?
Yes - My father plus I have a loan for most of my infrastructure
Do you have access to other financial resources (such as a financial partner, loan, etc.) to start your farm?'
Yes - Another investor would help me grow the herd by buying more breeding stock.
Project
Farm Name
Nomad Goat Dairy.
Farm Project Description
I need to find a farm yard and land to overwinter the herd.
I need bush, ditches, abandoned acreages, etc.
I will use guerilla grazing to feed the herd.
Concentrates and milk jars (for local families) will be stored along the route. It's perfectly legal in Alberta at least for families to consume milk milked on their property. So I bring the herd to you.
A central location would have the cheese processing facility.
Milk the herd nearby, process it into various dairy products.
