I plan to establish a small-scale nursery operation to complement and expand my existing landscape maintenance business. The initial setup will include one to two greenhouses and approximately half an acre dedicated to growing annuals and ornamental plants. These plants will support both residential and commercial clients through direct delivery and installation services. The nursery will focus on efficient, manageable production while maintaining the flexibility to scale operations over time. I intend to install primarily drip irrigation systems throughout the outdoor growing areas, leveraging my certification with the Irrigation Association of BC to ensure efficient water management. Within the greenhouses, I may incorporate spray heads for broader coverage, as well as water pump–assisted hydroponic tables to increase productivity and plant quality. Diesel heaters will be used to maintain optimal temperatures during colder months, and the addition of grow lights and reliable electrical infrastructure will support year-round or extended-season production. In addition to plant production, I plan to integrate a small beekeeping operation. The bees will play a vital role in pollination, supporting healthier plant growth and improved yields. Over time, I aim to expand this aspect of the business into honey production for commercial sale, creating an additional revenue stream while enhancing the sustainability of the nursery ecosystem. With existing WCB coverage and commercial insurance already in place, this expansion represents a natural progression of my current business. By combining plant cultivation, irrigation expertise, and integrated pollination, the nursery will provide high-quality, locally grown products while strengthening service offerings for my landscaping clients.
Will work with what is available withing reason.
