Farm Name
Farm Project Description
We are a couple planning to start a small-scale livestock and vegetable farm that will operate in the interior of British Columbia beginning in 2028 or earlier if we find the right fit. The farm will use regenerative practices and rotational grazing to raise a small flock of broiler chickens and sheep. The farm will aim to expand into cattle, a market garden and other complimentary enterprises as time and resources permit.
In our first two years, we are looking to graze around 10-20 acres to start 10-15 ewes and raise 300-600 broiler chickens. We would also like to add cattle in the first years if the land resources can sustain a small herd.
We are both planning to work on the farm part time while we maintain off-farm jobs so it is important for us to be within an hour from a city.
