The property has a northern slope and the pasture occupies the lower, northernmost two acres of the property. The pasture is well established and fertile after years of hay and grazing, with a predominately clay-based soil and some pockets of silty-loam at the south (higher) end of the pasture. The entire pasture has existing fencing and a separate gate for access, though some of it may need an upgrade specifically to the electric lines that were installed by the previous owner.

Description and historical use of land available for farming

Located in the fertile Cowichan Valley, this land has been used to graze cattle and grow hay for nearly a century and continues to be grazed by a neighboring cattle herd today. The current owners would like to see the space continue to be used to support the valley's food security while building the soil and hosting a greater diversity of plants and animals.
