Description and historical use of land available for farming

I originally backgrounded 125 to 150 yearling steers here for 12 years in 1981. 1/2 pasture and hay land. 1/2 fir timber and pasture. The property is cross fenced’ it had corrals and a loading chute, fallen down now. An irrigation ditch runs across the upper field that is available for stock water when it runs, and is turned off during haying season. It is the neighbours ditch. 2 acres are fenced into our side that is actually a right- away between the property to the west, the other 3 sides are crown land. It had a CSA of approx a 2 acre vegetable garden 9 years ago, pigs and chickens, 40 yearlings were rotationally grazed. A small herd of 10 goats did weed control for a few years Weeds are not an issue.

Long-term goal or vision for land

To be maintained with a holistic land-management approach that improves soil health, restores ecosystems, and increases biodiversity rather than just sustaining them. I am undecided at this point whether to sell or not but my preference is to keep it in my family. I am trying to give myself more time to make this decision and feel a 5 year window would allow me time to make a better decision. I would love to see the land restored into a working property again, with people living on it who would be passionate about this land management approach and could benefit from the opportunity to experience and learn about it first hand without a huge financial outlay. If this land could be used as a larger teaching opportunity that would be fantastic.
