Half of the property is forested, with a series of fields between forested sections. One 0.3 acre field area, adjacent to the landholder's main garden space, has recently been cleared of Scotch broom and has excellent sun exposure as well as access to water from a stand pipe. Another 2 acre field also has excellent sun exposure and access to a stand pipe, but is heavily vegetated with Scotch broom and would require clearing prior to cultivation. The third, 0.5 acre field space is somewhat cleared and has access to water, and has good sun exposure in the summer, but limited over the winter months. The field spaces are connected by a series of dirt roads, which may be accessed via the property's main driveway.
Prior to its current landholders, this property was owned by the same family for over 60 years. In that time, the previous landholders logged sections of the property to create the field spaces, which were likely used to raise livestock at one time. The current landholders purchased the property three years ago with the goal of creating an integrated farm, nature-school, and eco-retreat guided by the principles of permaculture and community-centred food production. In that time, the current landholders have established large gardens, constructed outbuildings to facilitate the on-site nature school, and are now excited to find experienced farmers who are excited about the prospect of collaboration in further developing this unique property.
The landholders would like to see the land be used as a place of integrated nature connection, education, and food production.
