Highly fertile flat land in Pemberton Valley bottom. No rocks, no sticks. This land has been in working production since 1970, within the same family.
Description and historical use of land available for farming
This farm was homesteaded in 1957 by our family, originally from the Netherlands, who cleared the land and built a thriving operation. From 1965 to 2018, the land successfully produced commercial seed potatoes (45 acres on a 4-year rotation) alongside rotational crops of hay and beef cattle. Since 2018, we have intentionally transitioned away from seed potatoes to focus on consumer-facing root vegetables (potatoes, carrots, beets) with expanded rotational crops, leaving the land primed for high-yield vegetable and hay production.

Long-term goal or vision for land
As we transition into retirement, our goal is to step back from full-time farming operations and generate reliable lease revenue while retaining family ownership of this historic land. We are looking for an experienced farmer and dedicated steward to lease the property and maintain it in excellent working condition. Because we are actively engaged in invasive species removal and small-scale riparian restoration on the farm, finding a lessee who shares these environmental values is important. We offer a secure, long-term opportunity for a skilled operator to run a thriving business on a healthy, well-maintained ecosystem.
Known environmental hazards (wildfire area, flooding, etc.)
Yes - Wildfire threat is becoming an increasing threat across our province. Flooding is always a potential risk in the Pemberton Valley bottom, however, we have significant dyke infrastructure.

Yes - Excellent, commercial-scale infrastructure can be available. Yes - Yes - previously ran cattle across the farm. 3-strand barbed wire fences remain.
