Description and historical use of land available for farming

Until the early 90's it was a bio-diverse variety farm, with over 100 different crops. The farm was featured in the November/December 1987 issue of Harrowsmith magazine, as well as a 1978 book called, "Growing for Market, On a few acres or in your backyard". The following owner of the property (early 1990s-2018) pulled out over 130 fruit/nut trees and did not continue farming, leaving a large open grass area. The property has highway exposure and spans to the bank overlooking the Okanagan River and Hike and Bike Trail.

Long-term goal or vision for land

I would like to see the land brought back to the bio-diverse "food forest" it was once known for. Although it is in the ALR, it is in a sub-dividable zone. Given world and climate uncertainty, I would like to do my best to ensure the land is maintained to provide food rather than rental profit.
