Pond and produce is a modern Alberta homestead built around food, family, and self-sufficiency. The farm combines indoor aquaculture, greenhouse vegetable production, microgreens, propagation, and year-round growing within an integrated closed-loop system. Four large fish tanks provide both food and nutrient-rich water for plant production, while solar power, battery storage, biomass heating, geothermal cooling, thermal storage, and heat recovery reduce dependence on outside energy. Designed to evolve over generations, Tank & Taters blends a family home with practical agricultural infrastructure—creating a productive living ecosystem where fish, plants, water, heat, and energy work together rather than independently.
Producing 3000kgs of tilapia or equivalent and 10000kg of produce, with 1200kg of microgreens per year. On a 4000sqft layout.
