My name is Lyndsey Northcott. I live in the Courtenay / Comox Valley area on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, and I am currently based on a property along the Island Highway where I have been actively developing a small-scale homestead. My farming experience includes several years of hands-on homesteading and market-oriented production. I keep honey bees (Langstroth hives), manage hive health (including varroa treatment and winter preparation), and produce honey. I have planted and cared for haskap and other berry crops, fruit trees, and a variety of vegetables. I am also involved in soil improvement, seed saving, microgreens, pickling, and seasonal garden management. I have been researching local bylaws, zoning, and sustainable practices specific to the Comox Valley. In addition to farming, I bring a background in wellness, personal training, and esthetics (20+ years as a spa therapist). I am currently expanding my knowledge through the Vancouver Island University (VIU) Micro-Credential program related to sustainable farming. I am a self-motivated, hands-on learner who values practical, regenerative approaches and community food security.
